Ivan, I will call you soon, but not yet... I just discuss with my other half, and we agreed that we should only subscribe with eff 1st May, since we just moved, so the next two weeks will still be very bz for us, unpacking and settling in... so won't have time to online.. hehehe..

btw.. if we take RM49 package, besides the normal registration fees, and we opt for 24 month contract, then is the desktop modem free of charge?? Just need to confirm...

hello Ivan, welcome to Desa Petaling, where the people are bubbly and nice, food is excellent (you tried the chicken rice next to KK yet?) and the scenery is fantastic.

now people, please confirm that the coverage for higher floors are ok.. my friend Mavin from Puchong tried it for a few days but he say the connection not good (ok he actually say suck like hell he felt like throwing the modem out his window, but out of respect to 'TechGuy' i will only put it in brackets  Shocked)

Then when he call P1's support no body answer their phone. and when finally someone answer the phone he say their customer service is not good (ok he actually said something FAR FAR worst but again out of respect to poor little TechGuy i shall not even put them in brackets  Shocked Shocked) And when he cancel he lost the RM50 activation fees although he only used for a few days..

no point getting wowed in hometown then getting kicked in the testicles when you got home.

you want speed, consistency, no download cap? Here's streamyx's connection from Widuri Impian condo. I only subscribed to 1Mbps (don't get weird, download window is Safari4's interface)

and to prove its not a fluke, here's one more screenshot later in the download

lots of luv,

Phenom, that is a very good streamyx connection there but streamyx do cap you at around 10GB transfer and P1 let you go higher depend on the plan. We understand what you mean but we can't speak of their customer service since we are reseller. If we say good thing obviously we are trying very hard to sell you a P1. As a P1 reseller, we are not suppose to sell the service for people living higher than 8 floor, only at customer risk if they wanted it. I would strongly advise people living higher than 8 floor to test it out before purchasing the service.

We do have non-commitment demo service for RM15 refundable, which we will come to your place to let you try out the service and determine the  speed and stablility. RM15 will be refunded if you decide to purchase the service. This fees will be used to cover our transportation and efforts. But we can't let you try for few days.

I would say P1 connection do depend on area wise, if you near and especially facing the tower obviously it is going to be stable. One of biggest Advantage of any Wimax is that it is quite portable to anywhere and there isn't any username and password that needed to set to the modem. It is plug and play modem which take 30 minutes first time activation. P1 do give satisfaction guarantee when you feel you are not treated well by customer service or the service is not like what you sign up of, they do give you refund.

Here is the screenshot of the P1 downloading winamp using mozilla

Stay put... The new P1 Wiggy running up to speed of 10mbps will be coming to us next week. read more from p1.com.my.

RE: NO DOWNLOAD CAP BULL**** FOR ONLY RM88/month!

wow ivan. impressive speed, i give you that.

10GB cap for Streamyx? based on 30day month calculation that gives 341MB/day. seriously btw me and my sis we download close to 1gb a day, which means by today we would have downloaded 15gb this month, exceeded the cap by 5gigs..

more screenshots taken today, even after we exceeded the 'supposingly, according to ivan' streamyx's 10GB/month cap Grin:

so i'm thinking for a 13th story high connection streamyx is still ok. and this being desa petaling, majority of people will live higher than 8 floors up. don't forget desa petaling is already on a hill (especially vantage point, amadesa, sri lata, winner heights).

Sorry bro i know you're trying to do business here but as the only senior member (and reputable techGuyTM) i have to protect the interest of members here before anything else. and guess what, your download cap story is bull. the only cap that is genuine in desapetaling.com is our beloved captain11 Kiss

..and no i don't work for or in no way affiliated with TM. I have no interest in their business nor do they mine. when they screw up i call and screw them three times over. phenom speaks what phenom knows.. yahHoo!! phenom can go back being the idiot now Tongue Tongue Tongue

I hope I don't offend you but there do have such thing as bandwidth cap for any internet services If you were to call streamyx, they will tell you the bandwidth transfer. It depend on area, if you exceed bandwidth you will feel the slow down in internet and does not mean you don't have internet. All internet service including P1 are shared among people and are distributed  according to the bandwith. If you exceeded the bandwidth and if the line is congested and then you will feel slow down in internet. But if there isn't any traffic you still feel the same. Basically all internet service guaranteed your line quality at the the bandwidth stated.

Yup, I agree if you live very high level, you shouldn't look for p1. It doesnt matter desa petaling is on the hill because the reception and delivery towers are build on the same level. It matter of how high you live.

I do agree streamyx are good since it is widely use. P1 is new and developing, just have to test it to know it Smiley
Don't worry, We won't sell something that our customer don want or feel scam of. We will never tell customer that P1 is better than streamyx because it is different thing, we just introduce this service here.

i know what the so called 'fair usage' thing is.. its so that power hungry users like phenom cannot be allowed to download japanese porn at full speed for 24 x 7 x 4 x 52...

As a P1 reseller, we are not suppose to sell the service for people living higher than 8 floor, only at customer risk if they wanted it. I would strongly advise people living higher than 8 floor to test it out before purchasing the service.

but to think someone promoting P1 in high-rise building area but failed to mentioned anything about "higher than 8 floor" in the very beginning. either this so called tech guy is not so bright, or just darn dishonest.. funny this is only mentioned when someone bring it up.

honestly, i have nothing against P1. I like alternatives. like how AMD was Intel's other option. and ATI was nVidia's other option. and I've been supporting both these 'other options' since their very beginning. so phenom like options.

if P1 is good, great. most users don't download much stuff like phenom anyway so the fair usage policy or limit cap whatever you call it will not mean anything to normal people. I'm just hoping people here find out more before driving all the way to hometown, because phenom hate it when more cars are on the move along desa petaling main road, these people just don't step on the gas!

so please don't draw traffic in that direction unnecessarily.

of course also phenom also hate if the good folks in desa petaling are not told the complete truth about something..

We do have non-commitment demo service for RM15 refundable, which we will come to your place to let you try out the service and determine the  speed and stablility. RM15 will be refunded if you decide to purchase the service. This fees will be used to cover our transportation and efforts. But we can't let you try for few days.

ya, ya RM15 non refundable.. hey ivan you got position open there? phenom like to work too.. easy way to earn 15 bucks if you ask me.

hmm let's see if i can still get good download speed on the 30th this month..

Phenom. The person who sell your friend P1 should have told him about the policy selling him a p1 if he live higher floor. If the person did not tell him, this alone, he should get back his full refund because the promoter is dishonest. We always ask our customer about how high they live.

Yes we do have position open. Our promoter will get the full RM15 (demo & installation) plus comission but I am not going to discuss that here. We can't have our promoter be going door to door to do demo without getting paid. Nobody in the industry will do a demo even.

But if you live or work really near to the hometown like within walking distance, we pretty sure we can test it free. Smiley

phenom,

i would not use the word "dishonesty" here, as in no way, that [techguy] has
acted irresponsibly. whether you can use the service higher than 8 floor anot
may varies.

I am also a p1 reseller in mont kiara, and have users subscribed / access to the
p1 service from level as high as 35th floor (my clients can give testimony to this)

Further, you can be held liable for the defamatory statement made.

We should discuss matters reasonably and not make any offensive remarks.

Sincerely,

John

Constitution of Malaysia, ratified August 27, 1957.
Article 10 (1) guarantees the freedom of speech, the right to assemble peacefully and the right to form associations to every Malaysian citizen.

wow john. really? phenom rests his case.

honestly, i like this ivan character better. at least he is polite and try his best to offer his service. as someone promoting product and services you get things thrown at you all the time. its the nature of the world, and its expected to happen. now word of advise to this john character, don't go sue every potential customer that say that doubt your honesty. you are representing a corporation to promote their service, everyone espect you to lie a little. everything has pros and cons. i'm sure as honest as you are you won't highlight every single weakness of your product to potential customers right... if getting negative comments throw you off and made you drive all the way from mont kiara to desa petaling, something is wrong somewhere bro, you sure you a reseller? don't seem like a human person to me dude.

now for that the ivan character gets phenom's respect for responding at his best manners..

choose smartly people. as i mentioned before being ehem 'treatened', if you think P1 is suitable for you go ahead and subscribe, just test out especially if you stay on higher units.

and again, i am not in telco business, i don't work for Maxis, Digi, U-mobile, XOXO, Celcom, Telekom, P1, izzi, hell i'm not even in IT related field. i'm not attacking any particular vendor. whoever wins, i don't get paid. so chill and keep your lawyers in your pants. this is a friendly community forum for god's sake!

good luck ivan, hope your business is good here. lots of luv from phenom. and john, good luck in life.

damnit...where was I when all this was going down... .shaitzzz....

Yes Phenom, thanks for bringing all those points up, you are, after all, our tech verification autobot... haha...

That said, a word of appreciation also to Ivan, for being patient and tolerant to Phenom's bombardments... If I continue to want to try out P1, I will look for you...

John... ahem... I'm not agreeing because I just want to be in line with the folks... if anything, I love being rebelious... phenom, setuju anot?
But.... I have to say, bringing up the defamatory thingy?? That was your downfall... either you are too young in the business (or life for that matter), or you have spite in whatever you do, and you will fail... until and unless you change...

I think, perhaps next weekend, or the following weekend, I'll invite Ivan over to test drive P1 at my place... and Phenom, you should come as well.. Smiley
of course, phenom, you'll have to manage your expectations.. I'm not a mega monstrous downloader like you... so I don't expect super fast connection... hehe... so long as I get my mail, a few youtube videos here and there, facebook, play a few online games, and can do some online searches within an hour, I'm happy...

Oh, and this is one of my favourite parts as well...

Since you say you've got clients up and as high as the 35th floor, lets hear from them...

testimonies?? any? or just tickle your testis after you've taken their monies??

C'mon... where.. where... where...>!!!!

Y'know, a man once told me, he caught the worlds biggest fish, and he had 15 people who witnessed it... but when he told me, non of the 15 people were there with us... should I believe him or not??

(grin)...
