Mid-nite Robbery

My son woke up with a sore throat last Saturday. It deteriorated and he became feverish at night. By that time (11.15 pm), my family doctor had closed and I had to send him to the 24 hour clinic near the KK mini-market. The doctor was very friendly and advised him to be given an injection. Trusting the doc, we consented. To our horror, we were slapped with a RM133 bill. After some negotiations, the bill finally came to RM108. Even then, I think it's too exorbitant to cure a sore throat. I have made an official complaint to the Medical Association of Malaysia asking them to make a formal enquiry so as to deter this clinic from "slaughtering" any more people. As it is night-time, I cannot call it daylight robbery hence the title of this post.

According to my doctor friend, late charges apply after 10 pm. I received a reply from Medical Association and the Consumers Association that they will do the necessary investigation

That 24-hour clinic is indeed expensive event on day time. I visited for normal flu and the bill is RM55!!!
I just moved to Desa P; previously stay in Jalan ipoh; believe it or not, the medical consultation fee there is average RM 25 - RM45.
