please excuse my ignorance, but I assume the walkway is not up yet right?
So, if this is in the proposal stage, then I am all for it. Yes, it would be great for all the desa petaling residents, of course, the desa sri puteri residents would benefit/suffer the most....
Its great cause right now the nearest LRT is Salak South, and to get there, must drive out of desa petaling / take bus ... but if the walk way is there, then you could perhaps even walk from your house (if you don't mind the distance, else, drive to desa sri puteri area or take bus to the end... )
the other good thing is that, usually, during the working day, the big parking area next to desa sri puteri parcel B (I think), opposite widuri impian, would be emptier, with most cars going out to work, leaving a decent amount of space for the rest of the community to park there and walk over to the LRT at BTR...
However, in this, comes a new problem. . . 1stly, congestion on the roads... in the morning, with people trying to get out of desa petaling, I would believe that to some extent, it would become worse with more people suddenly trying to go around desa petaling to desa sri puteri... may not happen, but who knows..
the other problem that comes to mind is to do with parking... parking, while there may be more space in the working day, but what about in the evening/night/weekend? as it is, parking is already quite a nightmare at the desa sri puteri area, and we haven't even got the residents of widuri impian in yet!...
Having said all that, I would still support the idea for a walkway... the reason I've brought up all these issues is more to manage expectations, that there will be some problems create along the way, but I feel that generally, the volume of pros outweights the volume of cons in this case.
